Don't Go 03:16
“Don’t Go” Baby is this the way you planned to make this go away? ‘Cause I’m sad to say that’s not part of my plans. If I could have half the chance to say anything that keeps me close to you, I’d do anything to make sure you understand. Whatever it takes I’ll make it count: scream until I shake every word out of my own, dumb mouth. Don’t go. No, not when it’s so close I taste it on my lips. I’d kill to feel your kiss. Baby is this the way you planned to make this go away? ‘Cause I’m sad to say that’s not part of my plans. Now that your hand’s in mine, every heartbeat’s in perfect time. Let’s live like we could die tonight. I need you to be mine. Don’t go. No, not when it’s so close I taste it on my lips. I’d kill to feel your kiss. Though we’ve made it this long, I’m only so strong, and I’ve always been on the line. Don’t go. No, not when it’s so close... I know that you want this. I know you can feel this. You don’t have to fight this. Give into me. I know that you want this. You don’t have to fight it. I know you know you need this. Give into me.

Safe & Sound 03:00
“Safe & Sound” I’ve got spiral-bound fakebooks of memories and fake hooks. They’ve kept me alive for years, now. Lately, I haven’t been well: my head’s hit a dry spell. The worst is now all that’s left. Can you hear a word I say? Are we bearing our souls for nothing? Can you say you feel the same? Just the same as before? Put up, put up a good fight, baby. Pick up, pick up, you can’t ignore that the fight is over now, and the lights have all gone out. So drink up, drink up, it’s last call, baby. Get up, get up, but we want more, until everyone blacks out and the silence keeps us safe and sound. Yeah, the whiskey will keep us from remembering this business that we’ve chosen can haunt us, like reminding me softly that I’ve been keeping my fakebooks for fake friends and half-crooks, the way that I always swore I’d not. If it’s over now, was it worth every bridge that we burned to the ground? If we’re going down... anchor’s hooked to the line and we’re all gonna drown. So let's drink up to whats been the best of us, until everyone blacks out and the silence keeps us safe and sound.

“Clap Your Hands” She dreams a little less each night: she says that hope is so overrated. And she keeps her pretty lips pursed oh so tightly: your word’s never worth the chance that you take to break it. She says she’s never been in love: bitter like this I can’t help but think and wonder... Tell me who have you been dreaming of? Right now. We never had a chance (never had a chance). Circumstances were already stacked against our favor. Come on just clap your hands. Come on just clap your hands. And all we ever knew of our hopes and hearts were promises that’ll never come. We’re breaking our hearts just for the sound, obsessed with our desperation. We probably should’ve walked away by now. And these are the words I scream aloud, I confess for the admiration. I’d kill for the chance to turn it all inside-out. But it’s all that she has tonight (all she has tonight). So she’ll keep down until she feels right.

Sick 02:44
“Sick” You slide your way into the verse from across the room. Your intentions are a noose I can get used to. Tie it up tight enough. Tie it up tight enough. I’ll rip the chorus right out of you. You said that this would all get better, but I’m sick and I’m coming back for more. I swear by this New England weather, I’ll be gone when you’re crawling on the floor. I spent a summer writing words to the chords you play. I built a bridge until the fall took the spark away. Light it up bright enough. Light it up bright enough. I’ll rip the chorus right out of you.
5.
“13 Years Later” Go. I’ll be standing here—right here—watching you walk away. Because before now—right now—I let you have your way. If you’re trying to save some face, or hide every fall from grace, you won’t be the only one. Everything you’re after, every line that you’ve been sold, can’t stop this disaster. All that glitters can’t be gold. So take back every word that you never meant for boys who can stop your breath and tell them that you never knew me. I drink myself to sleep praying for release: the secrets that you keep are keeping me awake at night.
